From The Editor
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Though a few days later, I'm happy to present the fourth quarterly newsletter, which was my goal for 2016. Though I have achieved my goal, I have to admit that the 2016 newsletters had less content than usual. I would like to encourage all of you to submit your numismatic knowledge and experience into the newsletter.
Please don't forget to read the President's letter, he has a few new announcements.
In October, I had a business trip in Washington DC. It was a perfect opportunity to visit the Smithsonian's numismatic collection, but since I knew that Brandon lived nearby, I have invited him along. We met there for the first time. I thought this meeting would be much more interesting from his perspective, so I asked him to write about his experience. Thank you Brandon for the great day!
Dave Roe is still collecting in Italy, this time he gives us an overview of banknotes.
Quentin Christensen takes us back into Australian history again, and introduces us to pre-decimal coinage.
Finally, I would like to share one of my new finds with you, the Newman Numismatic Portal, which is a great addition to the toolkit of a numismatist.
Happy collecting!
