LOT 2. "THE CHARLTON STANDARD CATALOGUE OF CANADIAN COINS"
This is the 47th edition of this very popular book on the coins of Canada. It is fully illustrated and has the values and conditions of all the Canadian coins. It has sections on the foreign coins of Canada, the provincial issues and the special issue sets. It also has a very large section on grading Canadian coins. If you enjoy the coins of Canada I would highly suggest this book. It's a 1993 edition that looks almost new. The proceeds from this lot go to the WINS treasury.

LOT 3. "A GUIDE BOOK OF UNITED STATES COINS"
This is the ever popular "Red Book" by R.S. Yeoman. It's a nicely cared for 32nd edition (1979). If your interested to see what prices were like before we were hit by the dynamic 80's this book is for you. For the beginner it is stock full of neat information. The proceeds from this lot go to the WINS treasury.

LOT 4. "HANDBOOK OF UNITED STATES COINS"
This is a 1992, 49th edition, of the well known "Blue Book". The blue book is suppose to be what the Dealers are offering to pay for your coins. Its laid out like the Red Book but the prices reflect the wholesale prices. The proceeds from this lot go to the WINS treasury.

LOT 5. "UNITED STATES PATTERN, EXPERIMENTAL AND TRIAL PIECES"
This Judd book of patterns is complete and nearly impossible to find. I haven't seen a copy like this in many years. It is fully illustrated with all Judd numbers. It's a hardback book printed with high gloss pages to enhance the photographs. It has 275 pages. If your looking for the best book, IMO, for all the strange and experimental coins this is it. It covers all metal tests used to test designs. It probably would suit the more advanced collector. But if your looking to learn a new part of the hobby -- this is it.

LOT 6. CANADA 1945 COMMEMORATIVE NICKEL
MS-65. Sorry my scanner doesn't do justice to the coins I put up for auction. This is a beautiful, flawless 1945 five cent "Victory" nickel. It is struck on steel with a plating of nickel and chromium. Copper was in short supply during World War II and Canada used this alloy to save it.

RESERVE - $7.00 BID

 $7.00 R.J. Huntzinger #158

LOT 7. SILVER ART BAR, CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG
A 1oz, .999 fine silver art bar featuring the Civil War Confederate battle flag. It's a proof-like strike with nicely frosted relief's. If you need a little silver in you life this would be a unique piece to own.

LOT 8. 1963-D WASHINGTON QUARTER
MS-64. My scanner really doesn't do this coin justice. This is a blast white, 1963-D Washington Quarter in a MS-64 grade. This coin would be great for a collection, type set or just to have for future trading stock.

LOT 9. GERMANY (NAZI) 1939-F 1 REICHSPFENNIG
Here is a classic collectible from World War II. It's a bronze, 1939-F, One Reichspfennig featuring the Prussian Eagle grasping the Sun Wheel (Swastika). Even though the scan is not very good I grade this coin a nice XF-AU. The proceeds from this lot will donated to the WINS treasury.

 $2.00 Derrick Ah Sing #416
 $1.00 William Skinner #400

LOT 10. 1917 P BUFFALO NICKEL
VG. Again my scan hasn't shown how nice this nickel is for the grade. ALL four digits show very clearly. On the obverse the rim just barely touches the tops of the letters while on the reverse the clear the rim completely. This is a problem free coin with no stains, rim bumps, pitting or other unsightly distractions. By "Photograde" standards its a classic VG.

LOT 11. 1934 P WASHINGTON QUARTER

LOT 12. 1991-D MT. RUSHMORE COMMEMORATIVE HALF
Here is a very nice MS-65, 1991-D, uncirculated, Mount Rushmore commemorative half dollar. Did you know that the mintage was only 1/3 that of the proof version. A total of only 172,754 pieces were struck with the proof version had over 753,000 pieces. This coin is in the original box with paperwork included. The box and paperwork looks like it did when it came from the mint. It hasn't been mishandle or banged around.

LOT 13. 2001 HALF OUNCE GOLD EAGLE
MS-65. Looking for the unique? Well here is a 2001 Half Ounce Gold Eagle that had a mintage of only 57,000 pieces. The half ounce pieces were the lowest of all mintages among the Gold Eagle coins. Now the past dates are becoming hard to get for those who have decided they wanted to make a collection.

LOT 14. CHILI 1971 10 CENTESIMOS
Here is a very hard to find one year type coin from Chili. Inflation had made this issue obsolete even before it was completely released. Chile went through a currency exchange in 1972; 10 pesos was worth one centesimos and 100 centesimos was worth 1 escudo. In the terms of the new money this coin was worthless. It was issued in 1971 only. A real nice unique, MS-63, piece for the world collector. The proceeds from this lot will donated to the WINS treasury.

LOT 157. 1839 FRANCE 5 FRANCS
A nice crown / dollar size .900 silver French Five Francs piece minted during the reign of Louis Philippe I in 1839 at Paris Mint. If you look closely on the reverse directly under the wreath you will see a small '*' which is the Engraver General's privy mark for the period 1830-1842. To the left of the `*' is a small anchor, which is the privy mark of the Mint Director for the period 1822-1842. To the right of the '*' is the letter A, this being the mint mark for Paris. A nice chunk of 'siller for the budding "World Coins" collector.

LOT 158. 1844 FRANCE 5 FRANCS
Another French Five Francs piece, this time minted at Lille in 1844. The Engraver General's privy mark is a dog's head (1843-1855) and the Mint Director's privy mark is a Retort (a container used in refining and distillation processes) (1840-1846). On the right at the bottom is the letter W, this being the mint mark for Lille. Neither this coin or the 1839 coin are pristine examples. They have been well circulated and chances are they have had some brutal treatment in the past. However, there is 3/4 oz of silver in each and they are still in very collectible condition.

LOT 159. CIRCA 1720 JETON
A silver jeton (about 1/2$ size diameter wise) issued by the Chambre de Commerce, Lyon circa 1720. The obverse depicts The river god of the Rhone and the river goddess of the Saone with someone gathering crops in the middle distance. The reverse had the god and goddess supporting the arms of the city of Lyon. This is a nice VF'ish work of art (with nice even toning). Although not exactly a major rarity, like most jetons of the period, mintage is unlikely to be above 5,000.

RESERVE - $20.00 BID

LOT 160. 1761 JETON
A silver jeton, this time from the Chambre de Commerce de Picardie (Amiens). This one is a bit rarer and I recently had four of these. One I'm keeping; one I already auctioned and donated the proceeds to a certain legal defence fund, this one, and one which I will probably put up on ebay at some point. Minted in 1761 (6th August) in Amiens France, the obverse shows a lighthouse / redoubt /harbour scene. The reverse shows the coat of arms of Amiens.

LOT 161. 1757 JETON
A silver jeton (slightly smaller than 1/2$ size) issued for the 'Ordinaire Des Guerres' in 1757 (War Office Administration/ Administrators). The obverse has the youthful bust of Louis XV. Reverse depicts Jupiter on his war eagle in the clouds striking down the Titans, date and issue in exergue. You don't find these in loose change guys.

LOT 162. 1751 JETON
A silver jeton issued in 1751 for the Academie Regiae Chirurgie, Paris (Royal Academy of Surgery). The obverse shows a mature bust of Louis XV. The reverse, Hygie (health) seated having a medical discourse (no doubt) with one of her little helpers. If you look closely at the reverse, at 12 o clock there is a cud (extra metal) the result of a chipped die. Although it looks like it may have been 'mounted' it hasn't. All the jetons I have seen of this type (and they are few) have the same die error evident. This is a nice jeton certainly in EF condition. It may have been cleaned at one point in the past (not in my lifetime though). Quite a scarce item this one. If anyone has any questions on the jetons....just ask.

LOT 210. 1889 MORGAN DOLLAR & LGB 2028D MOGUL "BIG TRAIN"
The Morgan dollar is a raw MS63 with some "chatter" on the cheek and minor toning between some of the letters on the reverse. The Lehmann-Gross-Bahn (LGB) "G" scale "Big Train" (665 mm long) 2028D Mogul is based on the Denver, South Park and Pacific Railroad (D.,S.P.&P.R.R.) 2-6-0 locomotive from the latter part of the 19th Century. This locomotive can still be seen on the Silverton-Durago scenic railroad today and is the one locomotive that every backyard "Garden Railroader" must have as their centerpiece. It's a piece of old West history and one of the orginal locomotives might even have provided transportation for Morgan dollars. In 1996 the 2028D's value was listed as $750.00, if you can find a new version in a train shop the price will probably be around $1100.00. This locomotive has been well cared for and only has about 10 hours of operating time on it having only been used indoors during Christmas around the tree. Includes the original box. Shipping (TBD).
