Coins from a mothers rainy day savings.  All of the items I'm offering in
this auction came from a non collector friend who is in need of money.  He
acquired a 4" round tin, 2" deep, in his mother's things when she passed
nearly 30 years ago.  He believes it had first belonged to his grandmother
who passed it down to his mother.  It is one of the very few keepsakes he
has, but the old gentleman is in need of funds and wants these coins to go
to collectors.  I told him I would do what I could, and intend giving all
funds generated to him.

Lot 79. A Doubled Die Reverse 1985 Mexican $20 piece. This is a special
coin to me as it is the very first error coin that I ever found. I
purchased it in a large lot of Mexican coins. I was able to spot the
doubling with the naked eye. Look at the doubling all over the coin ...
the denticles, the date, the mint mark, etc. This particular piece even
has some very large die chips on the eyebrow and both cheeks of the
person on the coin. I have heard large die chips like this called
"internal cuds" before. I don't know if that is an acceptable term or
not though.
Like I said, this coin is special to me and to show how special WINS is
to me, I am going to donate all of the proceeds to the WINS treasury.
I'll pay for the postage. Hopefully this will keep the mailers running
for a couple few months. I have no idea as to what this coin is worth so
I'll start the bidding at one cent and no reserve.

Lot 80. Peru Book & Coin Deal.  A great combo deal.  Buy the book,
get the coin.  Buy the coin, get the book.  A win-win situation.  Here we
have a great little, unused, 84-page Peruvian Coin Booklet covering The Coins
of Peru from 1822 to 1972 which is photo-illustrated with the various coin
types -and- the coin, a .900 Fine Silver Peruvian Un Sol, grading a strong VF
or better, goes along for the ride.  If purchased separately, these items
could retail for as much as $29.95 for the book & the coin.  Yours for a
fraction of that cost at a starting price of just $19.95.  The coin in the
scan is the actual coin that will accompany the book for this auction.  The
coin is an 1868 Peruvian One Sol Silver Dollar size coin.  Did you know that
there are at least 7 major varieties of the 1868 Un Sol, as identified by
Krause, including a 5 legged Llama variety !!  Do you know which variety this
one is ?  It may be well worth your 20 bucks to buy it & find out :)  Reserve: $19.95.
