Lot 44. Since 1904 Syria has issued only 36 different varieties of coins of all
denominations.Seven of those have been FAO coins and only four had
different designs. I had three of the designs. Recently, through a
dealer in Lebanon, I purchased 15 Unc. Syrian coins in order to get the
design I did not have. They arrived yesterday and are very attractive
coins. I am offering the 14 coins, two of which are bi-metalic, at a
reserve price which is less than Krause list of $32.80. Denominations
run from 2 1/2 Piastres to 10 Pounds.   Reserve $25.00 plus actual P&I. BORDER=2 height=200 width=203>
Bid $25.00  11.00 PM 21st September  Rod Sell - AUSTRALIA

Lot 45. In search of FAO coins I found an individual in Cyprus willing to
sell his 1977 and 1978 Mint Sets which each contained one FAO coin I was
missing. We agreed on a price and I sent payment in US currency.
This is the only practical way to pay small amounts in some areas.
It took over a month to complete the transaction.
In the interval I found the coins in the US. Now I have the two 5 coin
sets. They are very attractive coins and are housed in the original
simulated leather Mint holders. Unlike our Mint these coins are offered
at a reasonable price. Krause lists them at $6.50 each. The 500 Mils
coins in each set are of different design. Reserve $15.00 Plus actual P&I.

Lot 57.  1943 PDS Lincoln cents - XF-AU, reprocessed.  Reserve $1.
In deluxe, clamshell case.  Sure to become a "RARE L@@K" collectors' item,
these authentic 1943 cents, one from each mint, are not only the unique
zinc-coated steel cents made only during 1943, but they are zinc-coated,
zinc-coated steel cents.  Not all steel cents were fortunate to receive this
second coating of zinc.  These were hand selected for their quality and
coated a second time some twenty-five to thirty years after being issued as
an extra measure of protection against the elements.  That makes these cents
even MORE RARE than the ordinary single-coated cents that are out there.
How could it get any better?  Since the original owner of these sets has
died, these are FROM AN ESTATE!!  About now you're probably thinking that
this is an offer too good to be true, that there's no Santa Claus in
numismatics, and that these coins may be subject to confiscation by the mint
as unauthorized trial pieces.  Wrong-O!  With each of these two fabulous
sets (Lots 57 & 58) is a hand signed and numbered Certificate of Wow stating that
these are FROM AN ESTATE and were legally owned.  This certificate will be
suitable for framing, or at least hanging on a refrigerator.  Don't let this
opportunity pass you up!  (Picture is representative of both sets.)
