Lot 25. Excessively Rare 1816 Geo:III 'pierced'
Sixpence in Solid .925 Sterling Silver. While it is anyone's guess
how that hole got in that coin, upon reliable first hand information from
someone close to the source at the time, this very Sixpence was 'officially
pierced' by Master Craftsman at Buckingham Palace & given as a gift
to King George III who wore it as a neckless at only the highest of Official
occasions. Several portraits now home in the British Museum depict
the King wearing his 'favorite' neck charm. Hey, what can I tell
ya, I'm just passing along the information from the person that sold me
this rare bird :) No doubt this piece could achieve six figures on
eBay, however, it is my intention to make it available to my WINS Brothers
& Sisters in this here WINS Auction Nr. 6 for the unbelievable starting
price of just one red cent plus one current first class postage stamp for
shipping. Reserve $0.01.
