LOT 137. USA, SIX INDIAN HEAD CENTS & ARIZONA COPPER DISPLAY Six circulated Indian Head Cents dated 1874, 1881, 1895, 1899, 1906 & 1907.
Also offered with this coin is a little piece of Arizona: recovered, carefully cleaned and mounted by yours truly - a 12.2cm x 10cm display piece consisting of various copper ores and pure copper pieces. The blue ore is Azurite; the large ore covered in green crystals is Malachite, and the small green ore is very close to one of the fourteen different shades of Turquoise (yup, Turquoise is a copper ore, actually a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminum) probably on the outer edge of the main vein. The nodule in the center is pure copper broken off of the end of a recovery system plate and the melted pieces are pure copper that had to be torched off of the same plate so that it could be reused (Morenci Mine, southeastern AZ). The pieces are all mounted on blue/green streaky artglass that is copper foiled and patinaed copper with felt pads so that it can sit on any surface, damage free, making it a great desk display.
