LOT 17. BEACH TREASURE
From my San Diego Memorabilia collection. Twenty five years ago, I found this 38mm medallion while beach metal detecting one morning almost directly seaward of the Hotel Del Coranado. It appears to have had a top ring that might have broken off and the owner then holed it so that it could still be used. BTW, this famous San Diego Landmark Hotel is where Marilyn Monroe made the movie, "Some Like It Hot". I've never stayed at the hotel, but it serves one of the best Sunday brunches in San Diego! Those were the days.

LOT 44. COMMEMORATIVE MEDALLION.
A bronze of The Kremlin Cathedral in Moscow by the Russian designer A Terechov. Overall dimensions are 87mm by 80mm. Weight ~4+ ozs. I haven't a clue when it was made, how many were made, or what it's value is (or isn't). All I know is that it caught my eye about 10 years ago and I paid £12 (roughly $20) for it. I thought it was a beauty then. I think it is a beauty now .... but it's time for it to move on. Airmail (small packet rate - no insurance) to USA would be circa $5, but will in any event be no more than actual cost to me.
