Hello everyone,

Welcome to another year-end edition of the Tarnished Truth!

I thought I would end the year by rolling out a new format - think of it as a sneak preview of 'what's to come' in 2008.  There's a few changes and a couple of new additions (with even more in the works for coming issues), so I truly hope you enjoy the updates as much as I enjoyed making them.  Of course, the real measure of a good newsletter is the content it has.  As always, this depends on your contribution!  Your help makes every issue that much better for everyone who reads it.

Speaking of contributions, the December issue officially marks the close of the 2007 Newsletter Contest.  We had some fantastic submissions this year, including two more this month, and it's time to vote for your favorite.  Take a look in the left-hand column to read the entries, make your decision, and email your choice to me.  Over the coming weeks, I will collect your votes and the resulting counts will be announced in the upcoming February issue.  So let me close the contest with a final word of thanks to everyone who contributed.  

As I write this, another year's Christmas Auction has come to a successful close.  There were quite a few interesting lots available this year, and as always, our Auctioneer has more on that and other news in this installment of From Behind the Green Curtain.

As a final piece of business, the election process for the '08/09 WINS Board of Directors is now complete.  Thank you to all that participated.  The results have been determined and posted on both the WINS Talk and Trade lists.  For a quick review, check out this issue's ELECTION RESULTS.

Our next issue, and the first issue of 2008, is scheduled for February.  Until then, I would love to hear what you will remember most about 2007, in terms of WINS or Numismatics in general.  I'll gather everyone's comments, and publish them collectively in our next issue.  So give it some thought!
