Hello everyone,

Welcome to another edition of the Tarnished Truth.

If you’re reading this, chances are you already know that the election process for the next WINS board membership is currently underway. As I had mentioned in the last newsletter, I will not be running for Newsletter Editor for the upcoming term. I hope someone considers stepping forward and filling in the gap! Personally, I have found it quite a bit of fun, but my current situation just doesn’t leave enough spare time to do the position justice.

A quick glance on the WINS forum of the CoinTalk message board shows that, so far, we have accepted nominations for the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Operations Administrator, and Librarian. Still, most of these positions are uncontested, so there’s plenty of room for anyone thinking about running for office. Per the election schedule, nominations will continue until early December, is if you haven’t given the idea some thought, there’s still time.

I’d just like to say that following the last term election I remember a specific comment on the list which concerned disappointment that many positions were races involving a single horse. Like many other members, I would like to see a lot of names filling the ballot, but it can only happen if more members step forward to serve. This really is such a fantastic organization, and I can honestly say that I have never regretted a single minute that it’s taken from my spare time. Oftentimes, I just wish it could have been more.

If you have any questions on the election process or schedule, please see last issue’s President’s corner. (please add link here)

The Christmas Auction is right around the corner – so hard to believe that it’s that time already. Our last auction saw some pretty strong activity. The Christmas Auction has always been the biggest and most active auction of the year. So if you have anything you’re thinking of putting up for bid, now is the best time to do it!

I’d also like to remind everyone that the auction is our single best fund raiser for the club treasury, so while you’re finding things to list, please consider donating an item or two. Personally, I’m excited to see what comes up for bid!

I guess that's all for me.  As always, I hope you enjoy this edition of the Tarnished Truth!

Talk to you on the lists.

Rick Engstrom
