Hello everyone - welcome to another addition of the Tarnished Truth.

Sorry to say, it looks like it's going to be a pretty slender issue this time around. I guess if the list activity is any indication, you all are out enjoying the summer weather, anyway.

Since the last newsletter, the "2009 Coins as Art" contest officially came to a close. I hope you took the time to look over the contest entries, and cast votes for your favorites. We have some pretty savvy, creative members out there. If you haven't taken a peek at the final contest submissions, why not do it now? You can see the full list of entries, and even download your favorite for a refreshing change to that windows default desktop wallpaper (I know some of you out there still use it!). View the final entries here.

This weekend, I read an article about the National Numismatic Collection is on display, once again, at the Smithsonian. The presentation format, which officially opened on June 12th, has been revamped to a new multimedia format which allows visitors to examine specific pieces in amazing close-up detail, offered in tandem with historical points associated with the coin. Although, I haven't spoken to anyone who has visited the exhibit personally, it looks like quite the experience. I hope they offer a virtual tour similar to the actual updated format soon. You can read more about the collection, and see the individual coins on display at the official Smithsonian Museum of National History's website.

Since our last issue, we've had two club auctions come and pass. WINS Auction 57 officially comes to a close on June 29th. If you didn't make any bids, you can see everything you missed out on the main Auction web page. And don't forget, if you would like to put in a special request to see something particular, email me and have it added to the Member Want List. For more information about our club auction, and other IT news, check out this installment of "Behind the Green Curtain".

I guess that's it for me. I hope you enjoy this, as well as future editions of - The Tarnished Truth. Talk to you on the lists!
