Hello everyone,
Welcome to another edition of the Tarnished Truth.
What a difference an issue makes. As some of you may recall, I was a little disappointed in the lack of content with our last newsletter. This month, I couldn't be more pleased. Special thanks go out to the members who contributed to this edition. I think you will all enjoy it.
It's been good to see a little more chatter on the list lately, too. I was beginning to think you all went on vacation at the same time, and nobody told me.
August brought us the ANA World's Fair of Money. Aside from a decent turn out, with attendance topping 9,700, collectors got a
first hand glimpse of the new, soon to be released, ultra-high relief Saint-Gaudens double eagles. The US Mint display featured large plaster casts of the coin which allowed collectors to touch the deep contours and feel the high contrast of the devices. To read more about this show, check out John Baumgart's first hand experience in this edition's
SHOW REPORTS.
In closing, I would like to add congratulations to Ben Blake! For those members not currently active on the Talk-List, Ben was recently
accepted into the Bust Half Nut Club. Over the years, Ben has shared with us a number of additions to his Blue Collar Bust Half Dollar Collection. To think that his collection has grown to over 100 die marriages! That's quite an accomplishment. So, congratulations Ben!
For anyone planning to submit material for our next newsletter, please have your documents to me by October 1st.
I guess that's
all for me... Talk to you on the lists.
