The Tarnished Truth
*** Vol III *** March 2004 *** Issue V ***

Howdy Folks - Welcome to The Tarnished Truth !

Well it's been rather a quiet month for WINS and the rest of the coin collecting community. We had our latest club auction, #19, which ended on Jan. 31st. Our Auctioneer will have a report on this. Make sure you all remember that our next club auction, #20, will be starting on March 13th at 7 P.M. Please make sure you get all your lots for submission ready to go.

I think a bit of recognition is in order for one of our members, Walt Southward. Walt is a former newspaper reporter who operated a public relations agency in Hilo, Hawaii for more than 20 years. He was recently informed by the ANA that an article he wrote on the catalogs of B. Max Mehl will be published in the March edition of the Numismatist. Congratulations Walt !! I'm sure we'll all look forward to reading your article. And for those who are not members of the ANA and thus will not have access to the magazine to read it - I'll see if I can get the ANA to give us permission to share it here in next month's Newsletter.

And as a follow up there are two Exceptional Emails this month. One of them is from Bob Evans who recently hosted the "Ship of Gold" exhibit at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. I hope you enjoy reading his comments.

That's about it for now - I hope you enjoy this as well as future issues of - The Tarnished Truth.

Doug Prather, editor
