The Tarnished Truth
*** Vol III *** September 2004 *** Issue XI ***

Howdy Folks - Welcome to The Tarnished Truth !

First of all I want to say a great big THANKS to JD for the great job with the Newsletter he did last month while I was on vacation. In fact he did such a good job - I'm tempted to go again. Alright - no comments from you guys (grin).

Now then, I think I may have come up with a new idea for the Newsletter that will encourage more membership participation and at the same time allow all of us to share in what we enjoy the most - coins ! But I'm going to approach the membership with this idea on the email Talk List first - just to see what all of you think about it. So more on that next month.

Meanwhile, summer is drawing to a close. The ANA show is over ( hope you got to attend ) and school is back in session, at least in my part of the country. And with the coming of the colder months we can also expect our favorite wintertime activity to pick up once again. The next Long Beach show and auction is just around the corner. And I don't know about you guys, but I always look forward to Long Beach. For whatever reason, the Long Beach auctions always seem to have the most coins that interest me. I have received all the catalogs and there must be forty eleven coins amongst them that I am just drooling over ! Of course my wallet is groaning at the prospect already. I think we all suffer the same fate in that regard ;-}

Also, I don't know how many of you have heard yet, but the PNG and ICTA announced the results of their latest survey of the grading companies this past month. The survey and the results may be viewed at the PNG web site HERE

That's about it for now - I hope you enjoy this as well as future issues of - The Tarnished Truth.
