The 1994 Year of the Family coins has 2 varieties.  The rare variety has a wider spacing in the 1994 date on the obverse.
The 1995 coin was to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the end of WW II.  Edward  (Weary) Dunlop was a doctor and POW on the Burma Railway.  His determination and refusal to give up saved the lives of many allied POWs.
The 1998 coin is to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the maping of Bass strait, between Tasmania and the Australian mainland, by George Bass and Matthew Flinders.  Flinders spent the next decade maping the coast of Australia.  His maps were still in use in WW II for some parts of the coast.
